This time searching for clean river to tread. Ditumabo is just far for today. 300 kms will do. The itenerary would be Candaba bird sanctuary, biak na bato, and of course the madlum river. I think that would enough for 1 day.:) ETD is 0500 hours so we woke up at 0400 to double check the vehicle, food, gadgets, etc. Left our place before 0500. We picked up FLICKR boy choloman_5000 at his place at around 0515 hours. We headed north to NLEX in our jimny. This time no jerry cans inside. Our ride is on full tank 95 octane. That whole day affair, we didn't refuel. Jimny consumes less fuel. I posted the tracklog above in case you want to visit these places. And you can visit my panoramio 4313883 for geotagged pics. Choloman_5000 will also post pics on his FLICKR.

The candaba bird sanctuary road is not paved. But it is doable in a sedan. Better bring your tele lens at the bird sanctuary.

The view to biak na bato is nice. Of course, it is still at the foot of the Sierra Madre mountain range. When we reached biak na bato, the guides greeted us. They are nice. The parking fee is 50 pesos. The guide is 300 pesos for the whole group if she will only accompany you in the park without the cave tour. It will be 600 pesos tour guide price for the whole group if cave tour is included.

The 1st thing we did was walk to the caves such as Yungib and the adjacent caves there. Then we proceeded to the Biak na Bato Park proper which was welcomed with the 1st hanging bridge. Better wear a durable foot gear. We went to the shallow part of the river, it's like a picnic place, so my 2 year old son could wade. My son enjoyed the clean and clear river with tiny fishes. Cholo and I went to the Batcave which was the largest in the place, accessed by the 2nd hanging bridge. Inside the batcave was also a river. The view inside the Batcave is nice. Check my panoramio and Cholo's Flickr.

Then we proceeded to the KWARTO KWARTO caves, which I didn't go into. The entrance was small, so I decided not to go inside. Cholo went inside, and he described it as the nicest cave in Biak na Bato. I do not know why. He said it was dark, and there were reptiles inside like monitor lizards, snakes, etc. Then we went to the Aguinaldo Cave which has a river inside a cave where we bathed. The water inside the cave was cold and clean. We rinsed in the new restrooms of Biak na Bato which were clean.

We decided to wrap up, then go to Madlum river to take pictures. There was an unpaved short cut road from Biak na Bato to Madlum as you can see in the tracklog. There was a zip line at Madlum river for 50 pesos. There were vendors at the riverbank where we ate halo halo. We then went home via the same Candaba road no traffic route. :) It was a day filled with good things.
